Our free Friday Youth Club is the cornerstone of LMA Academy’s community engagement efforts. Held every Friday evening from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, this vibrant event offers a variety of activities designed to engage and inspire youth aged 12-18.

MMA & Grappling

The LMA Grappling group is dedicated to teaching discipline and developing MMA skills. This program offers an element of competitiveness and is geared toward individuals who want to take grappling and related sports seriously. Participants will have the opportunity to train rigorously, with aspirations to compete in tournaments.
Our program caters to a wide range of skill levels, but it is particularly focused on those who are committed to advancing their grappling skills and showcasing their talents in competitive arenas.

Sunday Girls Youth Club

Join us every Sunday from 11 AM to 1 PM at LMA Academy for our free Girls Youth Club! This welcoming space is dedicated to girls aged 12 and up, providing unique opportunities for engagement and inspiration through a variety of fun and creative activities. Our youth club is more than just a place to hang out; it’s a safe space where girls in the community can develop holistically. With few opportunities available, this club offers a sanctuary for personal growth, support, and enjoyment. Weekly mentorship sessions and motivational talks are key features, encouraging positive life choices and self-improvement.

By offering these activities in a secure and nurturing environment, we aim to promote a positive community spirit and enhance personal well-being. Come and be part of our supportive and vibrant community!

Lives Not Knives

The Lives Not Knives project at LMA Academy is dedicated to combating the rising issue of knife crime among youth. Recent statistics reveal a troubling increase in knife-related incidents, with Leicester experiencing 869 knife-related serious crimes in 2019 alone, including 5 killings, 13 attempted murders, and numerous assaults. Additionally, 24% of young adults admit to carrying a weapon, and 51% of knife crimes go unreported to the police.

Drugs & Alcohol Prevention

The Drugs & Alcohol Prevention program at LMA Academy addresses the harmful impacts of substance misuse on individuals, families, and the community. Substance abuse is a significant issue, with 27% of individuals in the UK reporting alcohol misuse and a rise in drug-related deaths. These problems contribute to social issues like crime and poor mental health.

Mentorship

At LMA Academy, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive mentorship for youngsters who visit our academy or are signposted to us. Our experienced staff members are equipped to handle specific issues confidentially and professionally. We understand the unique challenges each individual faces and tailor our support accordingly.

Charity Work and Deployments

At LMA Academy, we actively involve youngsters in charitable activities to instill a sense of community and global responsibility. Through our partnership with One Nation, our youth participate in door-to-door collections for needy people around the world. This hands-on experience not only helps those in need but also fosters empathy and civic duty among our participants.
Moreover, we have proudly sent young volunteers on charity deployments to countries such as Malawi and Zambia, providing them with invaluable life experiences and the opportunity to make a tangible difference.

LMA Riders

The LMA Riders program is dedicated to highlighting and leveraging the numerous benefits of cycling for health, the environment, and overall well-being. Cycling is a fantastic way to enhance cardiovascular health, build muscle strength, and lower stress levels. It’s a low-impact exercise suitable for all ages, making it an inclusive activity for families and individuals alike. Additionally, cycling helps reduce our carbon footprint, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

LMA Hikers

The LMA Hikers program focuses on the immense physical and mental health benefits of hiking. Hiking enhances cardiovascular fitness, strengthens muscles, reduces stress, and provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature. It’s an activity that fosters mental clarity and emotional well-being, making it a holistic exercise for all participants.

Community outreach & Engagement Showcasing Our Work

At LMA Academy, we take pride in actively participating in local events and community projects to showcase our work. By attending fairs, festivals, and other community gatherings, we raise awareness about our programs and initiatives. These events are invaluable for networking, sharing our mission, and connecting with other organizations and individuals committed to making a positive impact. Our presence helps highlight the benefits of our programs, such as our youth mentorship, Lives Not Knives initiative, and fitness classes, encouraging community involvement and support.
